45 Students Awarded Kin Canada Bursaries
Kinsmen and Kinette members from across Canada are pleased to award 45 deserving students with a $1,000 bursary from Kin Canada Bursaries, a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund.
This year, more than 700 applications to the bursary program were received from students across Canada. Successful applicants are chosen based on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need.

How to apply for the 2012-13 school year
The revised application form for the 2012-13 school year will be available is now available. See "How to Apply" for the fillable form. Applicants must apply to the Kinsmen, Kinette or Kin club closest to their permanent address. The bursary application deadline date is February 1, 2012.
Each club reviews all submitted application forms and selects ONE to be endorsed and forwarded to the Board of Trustees. The Board reviews and selects a number of applicants to each receive a $1000 bursary. The number of bursaries awarded in any given year is based on the prior year's contributions to the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. The successful recipients and their sponsoring clubs are notified by June 30.
Purpose / Background
Kin Canada established the Kin Canada Bursaries, a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, in memory of Hal Rogers, the Association's founder. Rogers passed away in September 1994 at the age of 95. Its purpose is to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities.
Throughout his life, Hal Rogers believed in the value of education. In his own words, "providing and promoting the finest and most effective education possible for our young people" was a noble endeavour.

About the Bursary
$1000 bursaries are awarded annually based on financial need, community/volunteer involvement and knowledge of Kin Canada.

Eligibility
Applicants to Kin Canada Bursaries must:
- Be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
- Plan to be a full-time student, in the next academic school year, at a recognized university, community college, technical institute or other post-secondary institution for advanced learning
- Demonstrate high ideals and qualities of citizenship, and have not previously received a bursary from the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund
- Complete and mail the standard, current application form to only ONE Kinsmen, Kinette or Kin club nearest your permanent residence (club mailing addresses can be found on this bursary website under 'How to Apply').
